    Contact Lenses and Sunglasses


    Most items can be despatched within 7-14 days, however for contact lens orders we state a maximum of 15 working days and for sunglasses up to 10 working days - subject to peak times and availability. Delivery times specified on the Tesco Optician site are estimates only and are subject to availability.

    You can track the progress of your order in the “My Account” section of the Tesco Opticians site. Simply sign-in using your username and password and then click on the “My Account” link. This will then show you details of the last 3 orders you have placed, and their current status.

    Order Tracking Explained

    “Order in progress” – We are working to get your order ready for despatch. For contact lenses this may mean that we are waiting to receive the lenses from the manufacturer, for sunglasses it is likely that we are waiting for them to be picked from stock.

    “Posted to home address” – Your order has left our Warehouse and is en-route to your home address. Royal Mail ask that you allow 10 working days to receive items posted by Standard Second Class post. If this status has been showing longer than 10 working days and you haven't received your item, please contact us on 0845 6013479 and we will investigate further for you.

    “Posted to alt. Address” - Your order has left our Warehouse and is en-route to the delivery address you provided at the time of order. Royal Mail ask that you allow 10 working days to receive items posted by Standard Second Class post. If this status has been showing longer than 10 working days please contact us on 0845 6013479 and we will investigate further for you. 

    Prescription glasses

    As we are sure you can appreciate, there are a number of stages involved in the manufacture of prescription glasses,  and we therefore ask you to allow us up to 30 days to fulfil your order. However, delivery times specified on the Tesco Optician site are estimates only and are subject to availability.

    You can track the progress of your order in the “My Account” section of the website.  Simply sign-in using your username and password and then click on the “My Account” link. This will then show you details of the last 3 orders you have placed, and their current statuses.

    Order Tracking explained

    “Order In Progress” – Your glasses are at the laboratory where the lenses are being manufactured. If your tracking has shown “order in progress” for 30 days or more please call 0845 6013479 where our Customer Service Advisors will be able to provide you with more thorough tracking information, and a delivery estimation.

    “Despatched to Store” – Your glasses have left our laboratory and are currently in transit to the store they will be collected from. If this status has been showing for more than 3 days (excluding weekends) please contact us on 0845 6013479 and we will confirm with the store that they have been received.

    “Awaiting Collection” – The store have confirmed receipt of the glasses and they are available for collection at your convenience. Corporate opening hours for Tesco Opticians are stated below but do please be aware that these may vary slightly for some stores:

    Monday - Thursday 9am – 8pm

    Friday and Saturday: 9am – 7pm

    Sunday: 10am - 4pm
